Celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary

Yey! 40 years of marriage! Yes, it is absolutely a wonderful milestone for my beloved John and I! We praise and thank God for the gift of each other and our family members.

Thank you so much, my darling John! I love you so, words are simply inadequate to express how wonderful you are. You're one in a trillion - the perfect model of a loving, caring, thoughtful and faithful spouse, to say the least! ;-)

40th wedding anniversary greeting card that was received from a very special friend

Sunday, December 27 2009 was the auspicious day that marked 40 years of our blessed marriage relationship. And just perfect for us to start off the celebration by attending the morning Eucharistic Mass at the Church of St Francis of Assisi in Cheras, to give worship, praise and thanks to our Heavenly Father for His many abundant blessings and gifts to us.

Thence, off to MinMax Restaurant at PNB Darby Park for lunch with our beloved family. A blessed and very memorable day, well spent with family members...these are joyful moments most cherished by us!

To celebrate further, my darling and I had a fabulous short vacation at Felda Residence Hot Springs, popularly known by its previous name, Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park in Sungkai, Perak.

Simply could not resist sharing here the following :

1. Lovely Words Printed On A Beautiful Card
(congratulatory greetings received from our dearest friend, Doris Soosay, whom we're so blessed to have known since 1964, a fantastic friendship even longer than our married years! Such an explicit affirmation! Thank you so much, Doris - you're a gem of a friend!)

40 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

"Forty years ago they said they'd find their way together,
True companions of the heart in fair or stormy weather,
They said they'd help each other out and cheer each other on,
The said they'd be each other's strength to always lean upon,
They said they'd make each other whole, they's live their lives as one...
And everything they said they'd do so long ago, they've done."

This is truly a wonderful milestone for the two of you,
a day that must make you very proud,
a day that brings admiration and warm congratulations
from all your friends and family.
May you have all the joy that your hearts can possibly hold.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

2. A Bible Text On The Meaning Of Love - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient and kind,
It is not jealous or conceited or proud.
Love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable,
It does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
Love never gives up,
And its faith, hope and patience never fail.

4. A Recipe For Happiness (from one of my email messages)

Take a couple of whole months.
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness, hate, and jealousy,
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.
Now cut each month into 28, 30 or 31 different parts,
But don't make the whole batch at once.

Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.
Mix well into each day:
one part of faith
one part of patience
one part of courage
and one part of work;

Add to each day:
one part of hope, faithfulness, generosity and kindness;

Blend with:
one part meditation and one good deed;

Season the whole with:
a dash of good spirits
a sprinkle of fun
a pinch of play
and a cupful of good humour;

Pour all of this into a vessel of love,
cook thoroughly over radiant joy,
garnish with a smile,
and serve with quietness, unselfishness and cheerfulness
and you are bound to have a Happy Life!

May all of us enjoy and celebrate the gift of life everyday with love and service! :-)
