Celebrating January 2016 at Genting Highlands

A most wonderful feeling to start the New Year, 5,710 ft (1,740 m) above sea level at Genting Highlands, a favourite hill resort among locals and tourists!

Being a Genting Reward member, I was offered a complimentary one-night stay at First World Hotel for my birthday, to be redeemed any day in the month of January. Of course, I grabbed the offer since my beloved darling John and I last went up there two years ago.

Though knowing there won't be much to see as there are on-going massive constructions for the 20th Century Fox Theme Park and other sections on this hill top, it didn't deter us from redeeming my birthday voucher.

Anyway, it was an opportunity to get away from the hot humid weather that we're experiencing currently in the lowlands and enjoy the crisp and cool mountain air at Resort World Genting.

We traveled to Genting on the morning of January 7th and returned to Kuala Lumpur on the 8th evening. Undoubtedly, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. It was a very relaxing, pleasurable and satisfying trip that ended with a sumptuous buffet lunch at Coffee Terrace before heading home.

The buffet concept open kitchen consists of Local, Flavours of Malaysia, Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Indian cuisines, plus varieties of local and international deserts. So much delectable food to savour from 12 noon to 2.30 pm.

Sharing below some of the flavourful and colourful dishes from the day's menu....

We ate so much that had to forego dinner at home. Just ate some fruits and watched a downloaded movie before hitting the sack early as we were truly exhausted from walking so many kilometres at Genting the previous day.

We thank and praise God for His endless blessings!
