John and I had targeted to dine at Coffee Terrace, situated in Genting Hotel for our next visit to the highlands. Why? As our dear friend Stephen always says, "Eat smart!"
Opportunity came sooner than expected when we went to Genting Highlands for the Engelbert Humperdinck 2010 Legacy of Love World Tour about a fortnight ago with Stephen and his beloved spouse, Sook Wan.
For buffet dinner, Coffee Terrace offers a special 50% discount off the adult rate (RM59++) for senior citizens, if check-in between 5.00-6.00pm. This was just perfect for us all, as we fall in that category and perfect timing too, with ample time to dine before Engelbert's concert show that will start at 8.00pm!
Coffee terrace is one of the most popular dining outlets in Genting, very spacious with a seating capacity for 600 diners at any one time and inside looks as good as the variety of food displayed! Good ambience, and has sufficient courteous staff to serve at the kitchens and dining tables with a smile.
Its menu is truly extensive, with a wide variety of local and international flavours that feature specialties from six kitchens, covering Local Favourites, Nyonya, Japanese, Western, Chinese and West Asian. One is really spoilt for choice!
I'll let my pictures speak their thousand words :
Local Favourites: Satay, fried fish/chicken, ayam percik, yam rice, kerabu papaya+mango
Chinese Kitchen: Stir-fried choy sum with mushrooms and lots of chopped garlic.
Can order fried noodles and an assortment of seafood that are cooked on the spot!

Japanese Kitchen: Sushi, tempura, seaweed, jelly-fish, pickled ginger/beetroot, tofu

biryani rice, papadum, dhall, chutney, fruit acar, pickled brinjal, beans and chick peas, etc.

Food-fare from the various stations: Simply tasty, delicious and absolutely varied!
Desserts: Cakes, pastries, fruits and ice-cream
But of course there's much more than we can consume that weren't photographed here, such as chicken rice, roasted duck, laksa and soups, yong tau foo, dumplings, pasta, shoulder of lamb, etc.!
All four of us overindulged ourselves that night and truly enjoyed the wonderful spread presented. For just RM67.85 for 2 pax (senior citizen's rate), we definitely ate smart, right? :-)
