So much food to delight in at Maya Brasserie, Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur on the third day of the Lunar New Year 2010. The moment we stepped into that lovely halal restaurant and feasted our eyes on the lavish buffet, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, darling John and I knew that we would definitely enjoy our luncheon that day! We really took our own sweet time to savour the flavour of each mouthful for about 3 hours from noon time. After all, that's the highlight of buffet hi-tea where one can eat as much as one can during the prescribed lengthy hours. Food was really bountiful for the less than 20 diners present that day!
It was our first visit there and impressed, we surely were! Ambience and service was perfect, dishes offered were so varied, tasty and delicious and to top it all, there was a 50% rebate for senior citizens above 60 years old which worked to only RM32.50++ each. All so worthwhile with the senior citizens' reduced rate, specially offered in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations! And, the food tasted all the more yummy when John's sister insisted on treating us all unexpectedly! Hee hee...what more can we ask!
The sumptuous spread included the main dishes, such as, braised mushrooms and broccoli, sea bass with coconut milk, satay, prawns fried with dessicated coconut, noodles, paella (Spanish rice) with fish and seafood, chicken lasagna, dumplings and other popular delicacies.
Teo Chew porridge, sushi, seafood and oysters on ice, glass noodle salad, chicken salad, local and international cakes, desert and fruits, were included in the menu too. Haagen-dazs ice-cream were offered as well.
We enjoyed eating the Yee Sang that was assorted with jellyfish and others, superb taste! This is one of the most favoured dish during the CNY, that's never too much for us!
There were mini stations with chefs manning the stalls, with on-the-spot cooking at diners' requests for spaghetti, Penang 'loh bak' and waffles with toppings of strawberries or blueberries. Yum...yum!
These were some of what my beloved and I happily consumed with lingering delight! Of course, we overindulged ourselves as usual during buffet hi-teas like this and had to abstain from eating dinner that night!
Praise and thank the Lord for all these wonderful blessings - great food, enjoyed with great company!
