Spend smart and eat smart!
That was exactly what John and I had in mind when we rounded up our family members, my sis and niece, and an old friend to Benteng Coffee House at Quality Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for a hearty buffet lunch of local and international cuisine.
We gathered there to celebrate the first day of Chinese New Year which fell on February 3rd this year.
Benteng Coffee House is one of our favourite spot for food indulgence as we're attracted by its many plus points, such as:
- food is halal. Hence, most suitable for our younger son and his family
- fantastic array of great dishes to whet our appetite
- long dining hours (about 4 hours during weekends and public holidays) which is more than sufficient to enjoy the food and more wonderful, the company of family, relatives and friends
- lovely ambiance, clean environment, tables well-spaced and not overly crowded
- friendly and good service overall
- great value for money. Very reasonable rates when compared elsewhere and seniors dine at 50% discount rate.

Total bill for the sumptuous buffet hi-tea was just RM299.86 for the whole lot of us (5 adults, 5 seniors and 1 child as the twins ate for free!).
We left around 4pm, tummies over-filled, fully satisfied and contented, and all adjourned to our home to spend the rest of the evening. Then, later in the night, we continued the gaiety at John's nephew's home for steamboat!
What a wonderful day well-spent with family members, relatives and friends!
