Halal Chinese Minmax Restaurant in KL, revisited!

The many times that we've patronized MinMax Restaurant, PNB Darby Park in Kuala Lumpur with our family, we've never been disappointed with the food served. Our very recent revisit to this lovely halal Chinese joint for lunch was early this month to celebrate both of our sons' birthday together, killing 2 birds with one stone! ;)

We decided not to order a la carte. Instead, we browsed through the many special set menus available with varying prices according to the type of dishes and number of pax, and ended up choosing the RM298.00+ Lunch/Dinner Set - Special Menu F (9-10 pax) that included the following dishes:
  • Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Seafood Treasures and Fish Lip
  • Pan Fried Silver Pomfret Fish with sambal sauce
  • Deep Fried Crispy Sea Prawns with salty sauce
  • Deep Fried Chicken with lemon grass in Indonesian style
  • Braised Dried Oyster with Seafood Treasures in clay-pot
  • Deep Fried Crispy Squid with salted eggs yolk
  • Stir Fried Seasonal Vegetable with anchovies and garlic

The above menu was to be served with white rice that is priced separately. We opted out of this and instead ordered a plate of Fried Emperor Noodle with crab meat that cost RM30.00+. Anyway, at the end of it all, we realized that the delectable dishes will go very well with rice, indeed!

For 7 adults inclusive of John's mum and our 3 grandchildren that comprise of 1 teenager and a pair of almost 6-year old twins, there was so much to eat and savour. What an enjoyable and satifying feast! It was as if 8 persons were eating food meant for 10 pax since the twins ate morsels only. Gosh, we were filled to overflowing, so to speak! Total bill was RM400.40 inclusive of Chinese tea, nuts and towels. We felt the price was reasonable.

Great awesome food and a great family time together! Praise and thank God!

The food was so good that my beloved hubby forgot about his recent gout attacks and polished whatever remnants his eyes set upon, so focused was he on the old-school value of not to waste food. You won't believe it but by next evening his gout pains resurfaced and tortured him for a week due to all the excess seafood consumed the previous afternoon. My poor darling was in great pain with inflamed and swollen ankle that switched from left ankle to right and back to left again. Sometimes the pain was so intense that resulted with chills and fever. This episode has taught him to be very wary of his food intake in future. Ahem.... memory is short when a feast is laid before you, huh? Thus, inevitable they'll be further attacks again.

Not surprising that the crowd that noon at Minmax was enormous! Its fame has traveled far and wide by word of mouth and even, online. This will definitely not be our last... that's bound to be a return visit again!
