My dearly beloved mother-in-law, Clare Chan (John's mum) went home to the Lord on Monday, December 12 2011 at 8.44 pm at Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) where she was admitted two nights before due to heart failure.
She was blessed with a peaceful and almost painless transition... we thank our merciful God for His abiding love for our loving mother who was faithful to Him till the very end, like an innocent child who always looked forward to going to Church to receive Jesus in Holy Communion.
My beloved mother-in-law, Clare Chan (08/12/1924~12/12/2011) |
She was one in a million – the best mother to her two children, son- and daughter-in-law, grandmother to 3 boys and great grandmother to 5 (4 girls + 1 boy). She was truly a blessing to us all and will be forever loved, cherished and remembered. A simple, humble, loving, caring and thoughtful person, with a very generous heart and angelic smile. Never uttered an unkind or harsh word to me during the half century that I knew her. I thank God for having blessed John and I with the gift of caring for her these last 13 months when her daughter was unable to do so due to ill-health. We love and miss her soooooo… very much!
Eternal rest grant to CLARE CHAN, O Lord;
Let Your perpetual light shine upon her,
and may her soul through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Update: February 13 2012
My late mother-in-law's cremation urn made of onyx stones had been placed in one of the columbarium niches and covered with a marbled plaque, at the Subang Lutheran Garden, a lovely Christian Memorial Park.
My beloved John and I had purchased 3 niches in advance (about 2 years ago) for ourselves and for mum. We strongly believe that making such arrangements will definitely ease the burden and stress that will be encountered by our family members when we precede them in death. It had proven us right... there's nothing taboo about it.
