Hi Jacqui, i read in your comments somewhere that you had difficulty growing cactus flower, and also difficult to let it flower. Recently, I have been looking for it here in Manila but can't find any although found a non-flowering plant in Mindanao, in someone's house. I wish you can grow it and i will follow you. If it grows in Malaysia, it will grow here as well. It is a short-day plant so if i can grow it i know how to make it flower.

ReplyDeleteGrowing the Cactus Flower or Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera truncata) wasn't difficult for us (we even propagated many from the leaf segments) but getting them to flower was our main problem. So after having them for about 3 years without any blooms at all, we just gave up and got rid of them.
This beauty can definitely grow in Malaysia, so why not try growing in your garden in Manila and get it to bloom.
